 This week in Math...

 

 

                                                                          

 

This week, I will work with students individually on fractions. We will use last week's test as reference.

 

As I work with students individually, the rest of the class will work on multi-step word problems.

    ** Students will focus on what the question is asking and how we can find the answer using the information given.

 

 

Again, it is extremely important that students continue to practice their multiplication and division facts. Please study for about 10 minutes each night.

 

Vocabulary:

Fact Family - group of numbers that relate

Mulitiplication - repeated addition

Factor- numbers multipled together to get a product

Product- the answer in a mulitplication problem

Multiple- products of a certain number. For example, the multiples of 7 are 7, 14, 21, 28, etc.

Divison- taking a whole number and splitting it into smaller, equal groups

Variable - a letter used to represent a number

Dividend - the number being divided

Divisor - the number in which you use to divide the dividend

Quotient - the answer to a division problem

 

 

 

**Please note: Because every student learns in different ways and over different amounts of time, we are going to attempt a new system in math. Each group is being taught the same thing, just in different ways.***
